Celtic Knot Work and Wedding Rings
We make Celtic bangles,Celtic rings, Celtic pendants, Celtic knots and Celtic crosses amongst other fine jewelry.
I have a picture in my head of the Celts - probably inaccurate, definitely leaning toward honour, bravery, steadfastness... you know, boys stuff. The picture is full of glory and maidens, and strong just leadership - probably rubbish because to make in those days I reckon you had to be a pretty mean bastard - something like leadership today.
Enjoy the jewellery - I love the knots and patterns. What fascinates me is the time to do a knot - in the old days people must have had a huge amount of time on their hands. With today’s software it is a whole lot easier.
We work in a combination of metals - titanium, gold, silver, modern composites, platinum if I am pushed.
Above is the Claddagh ring - or Claddegh ring - I am not sure of the spelling - but we make it in 9ct gold, silver and 18ct gold.
 The line blurs with Runic Jewelry. Runes stones are found in many Celt references and they are used in combination with Celtic Knots and appear in Celtic mythology.
We make up our Celtic jewelry using white gold, platinum, titanium, red gold and yellow gold and sometimes palladium.

We use many processes and techniques in the manufacturing process, from hand carving in wax, to CNC cutting into composites. We use goldsmithing techniques that were used thousands of years ago and we use modern manufacturing skills. They both have their place and their expertise.
We manufacture here in South Africa - making Celtic bangles with knot work, Celtic rings and Celtic cuff links.
Many of the combinations of design and metals are unique to that piece. If we are not making them it means they cannot be done, or are not cost effective. Of coure if you are prepared to spend some of your precious money/energy, I will, in return, make you something special.

CELTIC KNOT
The Celtic mystique, with its emphasis on the Otherworld,is widely quoted but little understood.
The Celts were aware of the Sidh, the tall, shining ones,or the opalescent, lit from within.
This paganism was subsumed in Christianity and the immediacy of the Otherworld receeded.
The Celtic Cross,with its recognisable shaft, arms and ring is embellished with intricate decorations which are representations of much older, cruder and very powerful symbols of basic life forces. This Cross, like others, has cross-cultural significance of Protection and Goodnesss.
The Celtic Knot is a reflection of the complexity of Self, the interconnectedness and never-ending cycle of life. As the mantra or rosary aid contemplation, so does focussing on the winding of the knot aid meditation.
